LIFE OF A 20-SOMETHING GIRL

They say “Life starts at 40”. But I must say “fun and excitement starts at 20’s”. In this age bracket, college life rocks, peers/friends will be your everything and you’ll learn that self image is a great investment to gain popularity and large number of friends.

But when you graduated college, everything will change:

  1. Fear of unknown – of course, when you graduated in a nursing school, your plan is to pursue your nursing career. But what if your path took a different direction instead? You will often say to yourself “Geezz, what will happen to me after I graduated. What will I do now? What will I do next?”
  1. Career – what did you feel during your first work interview? I know you trembled, stuttered and all your body’s anxiety went to your stomach. We all went there. Promise, you’re not the only one haha! But when you got the job, YYEEAAAHHHHHHH! Even if it is not your line of career, as long as you had a job it is highly considerable. Feels like a winner, right?
  1. Money – when you graduated and still waiting for any calls from those companies you applied for, you are still under Momma’s palm. But when you received your first salary, you felt like a billionaire! (been there too!) SO you go directly at the mall and buy a lot of stuff! In a matter of two to three days, I guarantee you, you had nothing left but a bunch of coins haha! Yeeaah that’s how money works. But later on, you will understand the “hard-to-earn-but-easy-to-spend” money process.
  1. Friends – high school and college friends will be your forever friends. Even though you cannot see them often like before, you will still be connected with them. Don’t under estimate the power of technology. What’s the use of Facebook, Twitter, etc if you’re not going to communicate with them? My fave motto: “I’m just one chat away!” Also, I want to emphasize that your circle will grew bigger; you will meet different people with different personalities. Take this chance and learn from them.
  1. Family and Household – you used to asked for some allowances before but now you’re earning, you’re the one giving allowances to your family members. You will also develop a sense of responsibility. You want to do your laundry, your closet is neat and you want to maintain the cleanliness of your room as well as the entire house. You will be every keen in your environment’s cleanliness, that’s for sure. It’s like you cannot function well if your area is like garbage land.
  1. Food and lifestyle – a 20-something girl will be very meticulous in terms of physical appearance. You will research the best skin care, hair care or the overall body care haha! You will also learn how to put your make-up on and your dress in a very fabulous way! When you feel beautiful, you feel more confident in yourself. In terms of eating, you either over eat or under eat. The worst: don’t eat at all. Girly advice: do not skip meal for you can over eat. Just eat enough, not as if it’s your last meal. Another advice: do at least a 30 minutes exercises esp. abdominals. Girl, if you want to maintain your slender body, start doing your abdominals.
  1. Love and relationships – a life of a 20-something girl is also the spring of her career. You may both have a career and a guy but to tell you honestly, you will have some instances that you want to be on your own only. Your job is pressuring you and you want to do great (since it is your first job) and you have to give time to your family and friends. Then your guy is asking for some attention. It’s like you want to tear yourself up. Time will come that you want to upgrade yourself as well as your career and everything will also change especially your relationships. You have to put in your mind that you have to focus yourself in enhancing your skills/abilities instead of finding the perfect guy. Girls, the perfect guy will come in the perfect time as dictated by the Perfect Creator. □
